剧情简介：
故事发生在纽约大都会里，由让-雷诺所饰演的职业杀手莱昂，受餐厅老板委托杀人。当他是以杀手的身份出现时，冷静而神秘，杀人手法令人热血沸腾。但当他卸下杀手面具时，则又回归成为平凡的市井小民，简单到连基本身份证、银行帐号也都有，每天至少喝杯鲜奶，喜欢浇花及细心地擦拭心爱盆栽的树叶，是个具有双重身份角色扮演的人。而就在莱昂所住的公寓内，有人暗渡陈仓的进行毒品交易，警方缉毒组伪装黑帮份子，为查缉毒品而入侵，杀了贩毒者一家人却遗漏了小女孩马蒂达。马蒂达为了安全起见而躲进隔壁莱昂家，她无意中发现了莱昂的杀手身份，为了保护自己及报灭门之仇，马蒂达以坚定的口气要求莱昂训练她成为一位真正的职业杀手……在此同时，警方亦全力搜寻马蒂达并拘禁之……莱昂只身闯入警局大开杀戒，警方火大惊慌之余，下令围剿大厦并全力搜捕莱昂，双方交战之下引发了一场紧张刺激的终极追杀。这对年轻人击退了警察，但莱昂也身负重伤。他们又试图继续逃跑，可在大门口，迎面撞上了斯坦斯菲尔德。后者举枪不停地向莱昂射击。临终的莱昂一只手牢牢抓住斯坦斯菲尔德，另一只手拔掉了手雷上的保险针……
惨烈的昨天过去了，生活掀开了新的一页。马蒂尔达重又回到了学校。一切似乎又恢复了平静，但这世界能够平静吗?
《这个杀手不太冷》为吕克-贝松的第一部美国电影。他谈到此片乃受金凯利所主演的歌舞片的影响，也受报纸连环小说的影响。此片有几处拍摄手法颇具新意，在视觉方面有压缩的效果。此片亦是吕克-贝松表现他对电影狂热最佳的代表作。此片是一部以法国人角度去拍摄的美国电影。让-雷诺有史泰龙的冷峻脸孔，有法国人的压抑特质。马蒂达(娜塔莉-波曼饰)一位枯瘦如柴有法国味的美国女孩，是本片的视线焦点。加里-奥尔德曼突出，激烈的警探演出，情绪起伏令人无法捉摸，是全片最为突兀、也最为抢演的一角。此片最难能可贵的是法国完整导演版，比前两年在台上映时多出24分钟。这24分钟里面最重要特色的是有让-雷诺与娜塔莉波曼纯洁的床戏。这是一部偏属于暴力美学的动作巨片。延续杀手风格电影，《尼基塔》以女杀手为主角，此片则以男性杀手为主体，解剖现代文明纽约市的边缘人
